I’m a self taught clothing designer and a hairstylist at Voila Salon Spa and Parfumeria. Since the age of eleven I wanted to be a famous fashion designer. I started my career towards fashion as a makeup artist in 2001 and shortly after working with photographers I decided to attend Cosmetology.

I work at Voila Salon Spa and Parfumerie as a hairstylist and Color Specialist. I enjoy combining my technical training with my artistic ability to customize a one of a kind look special for you. I don’t think hair should be a one size fits all, just like what you wear, hair should be an outer expression of your personality and how you feel. Hair is an accessory you wear daily and I strive to make you feel special by giving you a hairstyle that not only will highlight your best features but will work with your lifestyle, personality and I also take your sense of style into consideration.

Most of my inspiration for clothing design and for hair/color comes from all the beautiful textures, color combinations, and detail found in nature. I am constantly coming up with new color placements, creative haircuts to keep your look modern and current and to work with in your lifestyle and budget.

Designing clothing also helps me to progress as a hairstylist since hair is a different type of fabric that you can learn to manipulate and create amazing designs out of.

This year I was a contestant on Season 9 Project Runway wear I gained another outlook for fashion and has helped grow my fashion show production company and design label  ”Forever Darling” You can check out photos and video footage from that experience on www.mylifetime.com

 

A little about my hair experience:

I interned at the Parlour and trained as a color educator and womens cut educator teaching new assistants.  I also have taken a number of Creative color classes, trained as a ABCH American Board of Certified Master Haircolorist. On the side I also organize my own photoshoots coming up with concepts for hair, makeup looks, design and sew the clothing, accessories.

In addition I’m very passionate about producing and organizing my own Bi annual fashion shows called Forever Darling. I created Forever Darling in 2007 when I wanted to showcase my clothing line on a runway and help promote other local designers do the same thing.
